Studioz At Stage 2 – Tour Down Under, Adelaide

Emily meeting some of the locals

Stage 2 of the Tour Down Under started in Gawler and finished in the German town of Hahndorf. We went straight to the finish today and the town did an incredible job of decorating the streets and shop windows.  The weather is starting to warm up a bit more each day and the best position is under the shade of a tree somewhere in the finishing straight.

Once again we parked ourselves about 1km from the finish line and we had a great view of the riders approaching and sprinting to the line.  Andre Greipel took out the sprint finish for the second day in a row and he looks like a strong contender for the overall title this year.  He’s got the world no. 1 ranked team, HTC – Columbia, behind him and his form is obviously very strong.

Emily and I had a great day today, talking to the locals, playing in the park, picking up some free hats and a beach ball from Tour sponsors Santos and Emily’s favourite  – visiting the old Sweet Shop to buy a lollipop for herself and one for her sister!  The crowd was fabulous today and it was really a fabulous atmosphere.

Looks like another great day of riding tomorrow – finishing in Stirling.  This is a great location and the riders go through a hilly circuit that enables the public to see them fly past three times, if you’re in the right place at Stirling.

I’ve bought the bike over to Adelaide and Emily loves sitting on the back while I do all the work.  The race is very inspirational and just makes you want to ride and ride and ride!!!
