Tour Down Under – Stage 5

This is my favourite stage of the TDU.  Today you see the riders 5 times through the tough circuit of Willunga Hill.  Last year Cadel Evans broke away and almost looked like taking the win, only to be caught within the last kilometre from the finish line.  This year Francisco Ventoso from the Movistar team took out the dash to the line, whilst under 23 year old Aussie star Michael Matthews took out 2nd place and superstar sprinter Matthew Goss taking out third.  Aussie Cameron Meyer holds onto the leader’s jersey and should win tomorrow with the criterion street circuit finish around Adelaide oval.

What I’ve loved about this year’s Tour is that every stage has had a different winner – which keeps it exciting for the spectators.

Matt Wilson & Brett Lancaster

It was our last opportunity to visit the Tour Village today – we met Matt Wilson and Brett Lancaster.  Emily enjoyed watching the bikes being washed and having her photo taken with the Big Apple!  We also checked out the high altitude training machines in action – a possible addition to Studioz over the next 12 months.

Looking forward to an Aussie to take out the event tomorrow!
