An American Council on Exercise (ACE) Survey of more than 3,000 of its personal trainers found that the 10 most common workout mistakes are:
- Not stretching enough
- Lifting more weight than you can handle.
- Not warming up before aerobic activity.
- Not cooling down after any type of workout.
- Exercising too intensely.
- Not drinking enough water.
- Leaning heavily on hand rails when using a stair-stepper.
- Not exercising intensely enough.
- Using too much momentum to lift the weight – “jerking” the weight.
- Consuming energy bars and sports drinks during short, low-intensity workouts.
