Big Workout Mistakes

An American Council on Exercise (ACE) Survey of more than 3,000 of its personal trainers found that the 10 most common workout mistakes are:

  1. Not stretching enough
  2. Lifting more weight than you can handle.
  3. Not warming up before aerobic activity.
  4. Not cooling down after any type of workout.
  5. Exercising too intensely.
  6. Not drinking enough water.
  7. Leaning heavily on hand rails when using a stair-stepper.
  8. Not exercising intensely enough.
  9. Using too much momentum to lift the weight – “jerking” the weight.
  10. Consuming energy bars and sports drinks during short, low-intensity workouts.
